15 August 2003 14:14 Russian State Duma faction Fatherland - All Russia changes name Moscow, 15 August: The Fatherland-All Russia faction of the State Duma today unanimously decided to change its name.
Summing up its unscheduled meeting, the deputy chairman of this association of deputies, Konstantin Kosachev, told
journalists that the former Fatherland - All Russia will be called Fatherland-One Russia [Otechestvo - Edinaya Rossiya]
over the last session of the third composition of the State Duma.
A the same time, Kosachev continued, deputies of the faction decided to accept to its ranks three new members, who
previously belonged to the People's Deputy Group - Vasiliy Galushkin, Rafael Gimalov and Lev Yarkin. Now the
membership of Fatherland-One Russia has increased to 57 people.
Kosachev thinks it was logical to rename the faction as majority of its members belong to the One Russia party.
