13 August 2003 20:37 Ural Forge discusses new contract with Cooper Cameron CHELYABINSK. August 13 (Interfax) - Uralskaya kuznitsa (Ural Forge), a producer of steel and titanium products from
the Chelyabinsk region, has started to negotiate a new contract to supply its products to Cooper Cameron, a U.S.
producer of oil and gas industry equipment.
The forge told Interfax the talks, which began in Chelyabinsk on Tuesday, should be rounded off by the end of the
month. The companies will discuss an increase in supplies of metal products, and the timing of an ISO 9001-2000 quality
system audit. Cooper Cameron representatives will also visit the Mechel steel works, which is the forge's biggest
metal supplier.
"Cooper Cameron said it would like to see the forge become its main supplier," Uralskaya kuznitsa said.
The existing contract with Cooper Cameron, signed in 2001, expires in September 2003.
This year, the forge intends to up shipments to American companies in general 30% to $3.5 million. [RU ASIA EUROPE
