Rosbank buys 10.8 tonnes of gold in H1
MOSCOW. Aug 5 (Interfax) - Rosbank acquired 10.8 tonnes of gold on the primary and secondary Russian precious metals markets in the first half of 2003, up 30% from 8.3 tonnes in the same period of 2002, the bank said in a press release. Rosbank plans to buy 30 tonnes of gold from Russian suppliers in 2003, compared with 17 in 2002. The increase will mainly be ensured by a long-term contract between Rosbank and Russia's biggest precious metals producer Polyus, which will supply the bank with 26 tonnes of gold by mid-2004, including 15 tonnes before the end of 2003.
