30 June 2003 09:05 Russian PM reshuffles cabinet responsibilities after new deputy`s appointment Moscow, 30 June: Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov has authorized a new redistribution of duties among the
cabinet's deputy prime ministers following the appointment of Vladimir Yakovlev, the Government Information
Department has told Interfax.
Under the new regulation, Yakovlev, who was recently appointed a new deputy prime minister, will control regional
development, local government affairs, the construction sector, urban development, housing policy and reforms to the
housing utilities sector, development of the mortgage system and transportation policy.
President Putin appointed Yakovlev, former governor of St Petersburg, to the post of deputy prime minister on 16
June.
