05 August 2004 11:49 Growth estimates for 2005 revised upward The Russian Economy Ministry has revised upward its GDP growth forecasts for 2005. In its most recent assessment of Russia's economy the Economy Ministry projected a 6-percent expansion. Earlier it called for a 5.9-percent growth, Russian Economy Minister German Gref said at a government meeting today. "Taking into account the increase in prices for Russian goods, we have revised the growth estimates," he stressed. Economy Ministry experts forecast the 6.7-percent economy growth for this year. Gref believes that Russia will show the high pace of growth further. It is necessary to implement all measures proposed by the Russian government for the medium term to achieve this target, Gref stressed.
